Boris Johnson has failed to give any hope of a deadline for wearing face masks, despite legal restrictions on coverings coming to an end from July 19.

The Prime Minister was asked to reaffirm if July 19 was still seen as "freedom day" – or whether we will have to wait until next year to throw our masks away.

He failed to answer the question directly, instead saying the country was in a "far, far better position" than before in the pandemic thanks to the vaccine.
