FKA twigs has shared her support for Sia, after the Chandelier singer claimed Shia LaBeouf ‘conned her into an adulterous relationship’.

Sia’s allegation followed a lawsuit filed by FKA twigs – real name Tahliah Barnett – which alleged sexual battery and abuse by LaBeouf during their relationship.

On Sunday, Sia shared a tweet in which she branded the actor a ‘pathological liar’, but added she had compassion for both LaBeouf as well as his alleged victims.

It was written alongside the New York Times article in which Barnett’s lawsuit was first published.

Reacting to the singer’s message, Barnett insisted it was why she had to share her story.

She quote-tweeted: ‘I’m sorry @Sia.

‘This reinforces why I had to publicly share my experience. we need to support each other <3.’

Barnett added: ‘Love you back @Sia. You’re an inspiration and thank you everyone for your love and solidarity <3.’

Sia had earlier written: ‘I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single.

‘I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims.

‘Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away.’

Sia added: ‘Also I love you ⁦@FKAtwigs. This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.’

The songwriter and LaBeouf worked together in 2015 when he starred in the music video for her single Elastic Heart alongside dancer Maddie Zielger.

It’s not known when they were romantically involved.

LaBeouf’s yet to publicly respond to Sia’s claim, however he earlier issued a statement following Barnett’s allegations.

It was reported last week that the singer was suing her ex-boyfriend for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, claiming to have been subjected to ‘relentless’ abuse.

According to the Grammy nominee, LaBeouf was driving recklessly in a car with her shortly after Valentine’s Day in 2019 before removing his seatbelt and threatening to crash unless she professed her love for him.

The lawsuit claims that the actor abused the Two Weeks singer ‘physically, emotionally, and mentally many times in a relationship that lasted just short of a year’.

A former girlfriend of LaBeouf’s, Karolyn Pho, also alleges that the actor once headbutted her after drunkenly pinning her to a bed.

LaBeouf addressed the claims and told The New York Times in an email: ‘I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.

‘I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years.

‘I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say. (sic)’

When he was given a more detailed account of the claims, he responded in another email that ‘many of these allegations are not true’, but he owed the women ‘the opportunity to air their statements publicly and accept accountability for those things I have done’.

LaBeouf explained that he is a ‘sober member of a 12-step program’ and is also undergoing therapy.

‘I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way,’ he stated.

Barnett’s attorney Bryan Freedman told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘Shia LaBoeuf has abused Ms. Barnett, Ms.Pho and others. We tried to resolve this matter privately on the condition that Mr. LaBeouf agree to receive meaningful and consistent psychological treatment.

‘Since he was unwilling to agree to get appropriate help, Ms. Barnett filed this suit to prevent others from unknowingly suffering similar abuse by him.’

Metro.co.uk contacted LaBeouf’s reps for comment.
