#Britain’s embattled prime minister Liz #Truss marched to the lectern for the most important speech of her political career on Wednesday — accompanied by a song, "Moving On Up," about a bitter break-up. As the British PM seeks to soothe and reassure the #Tory Party faithful, FRANCE 24 is joined by Sir John Curtice, Professor of Politics at the University of Strathclyde and Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Social Research. From the outset, he reminds us that we have the most right-wing prime minister since Margaret Thatcher. But there’s one thing that differentiates them: "We have to bear in mind that Ms. Truss is not known as the world’s greatest speaker." He asserts that she struggled throughout her delivery "and particularly towards the end of the speech she really did rather struggle to get that paration that we always expect when the tone rises and you try to get the audience on their feet." So, for Sir John Curtice, it is really quite evident that "this is not her greatest art."
